COUNTY OF COLUSA
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

FOR SUBMITTAL OF STATE CDBG APPLICATION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of Colusa will conduct a Public Hearing on August 31, 2021 at 9:30 a.m., in the County Board of Supervisors Chambers at 546 Jay Street, Suite 108, Colusa, CA, 95932 in order to submit a Program Income Only Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Project, and solicit public input.

The County of Colusa is applying for approval to expend approximately $650,000 in existing Program Income for the following eligible activities:

Karens House is requesting a $650,000 loan from Program Income funds for a home for abused women and children.  This would include the site/building acquisition and any modifications needed for certifications.  There is a shortage of housing in Colusa County making it difficult for domestic violence survivors to leave abusive situations.  This home would be used to house women and their children when fleeing abusive relationships until they can be placed in safe, permanent housing.  This project will exclusively benefit battered spouses and abused children.

As of June 30, 2021, the County of Colusa has $1,161,451 in CDBG Program Income that must be expended prior to applying for additional CDBG grant funding.

The purpose of the public hearing is to give people an opportunity to make their comments known on the proposed activities/application.

If you require special accommodations to participate in the public hearing, please contact the Clerk of the Board at (530)458-0508 or boardclerk@countyofcolusa.org.

If you are unable to attend the public hearing, you may direct written comments to Greg Plucker, Community Development Director at 1213 Market Street, Colusa, CA  95932, or you may telephone him at (530)458-0480.  In addition, information is available for review at the above address between the hours of 8:30 a.m. “ 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The County of Colusa promotes fair housing and makes all its programs available to low- and moderate-income families regardless of age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, or handicap.
